.85 miles is around my block, i plan on running everyday. Once it is spring time. I just want to loose belly fat. Is that possible by running? Will it just tone my legs?

running defiantly can burn belly fat… any fat really. 0.85 of a mile a day isn’t going to show a difference very fast. During the first 20 minutes of a workout, you are burning the calories from the food you ate that day. After that is when you get into fat burning mode. So you want to workout at least 30 minutes, but ideally 45-60 minutes so that you’re burning more fat. It’s more important to focus on the amount of time put into your running instead of mileage.
Running will help, but the general rule of thumb is….1 mile of running burns 100 calories. So you’d be burning about 425 calories a week. You need to burn 3500 to lose a pound. I’d consider going around your block a couple of times. Good luck!
Running helps you lose over all body fat. However, you have to have a good diet plan.
If you keep eating what ever you want when you want. Does not matter how much you work out you will not see the result. PERIOD!
Well, your question is vague. Firstly, how much do you weigh? I cannot say for sure if you would lose belly fat. It all depends on your calories consumed against your calories burned. If you’re 200lbs for example, and jogging .85 miles a day for 5 days you will burn roughly 200-250kcals; each session which equates to 1125kcal / week. Sure this is a staggering amount, but what if you were consuming in excess of 3,500kcal a week? (This is in excess, not counting what you need to consume as your BMR). Even with your exercise, you’ll still be consuming in excess of 2375kcal, which is about 400g of weight put on each week. I’d be more than happy to accurately answer your question, but I need to know your weight, height, age, gender, and what type of jogging – is it slow, or fast? And if you’re running up or down hills? I’m sorry I couldn’t be of much help. I hope the calorie thing put it in perspective. Just because you exercise, doesn’t mean you will lose weight – it depends greatly on how much you consume. But don’t stop exericsing – there are great benefits other than losing weight well worth the sweat! And yes, you might find your legs tone up a little.
Try squats ! I went from flabby to flat in a month of squats
anything that gets your heart rate up (cardio) and you do it for at least an hour everyday will do the trick but you also have to watch what you eat. eat when you’re hungry stop when you’re not. and dont eat a lot in just one sitting cause that’s what also makes you fat. also make sure to do like 3 sets of 20 crunches after.
It also depends on your age. When I was in my 30s, I dropped abbout 35 lbs in 6 months, WALKING and PUSHING a stroller (with my son in it) all around a hilly area where we lived at the time. We used to walk
about 45 minutes maybe 4x a week. In my 40s, I lost 50lbs
going to a gym 3x week for 2hours at a time, working on weights, traedmill, etc.
I never ate really fatty food, but I do eat a LOT of carbs. Now I’m in my early 50s and I’m carrying about 40lbs too much as I was on steroids
for a long time.
It really depends on your AGE, hormonal stage, diet AND exercise.
You can’t spot reduce fat. You have to reduce overall body fat and often the fat around the middle is the last to release. So for your abs to show you have to have a very low percentage of body fat.
I also tell my clients to eat smaller meals more times (5-6) per day. When a body is starved it will store fat. When it believes that times are good (when it’s being feed good nutrition often) it will release fat.
I have written a page focusing on a 3 pronged approach dealing with Detoxing, Nutrition and Exercise (especially body weight exercises, which you can do in your home).
