One of the hardest thing that we have to do in our lives is to slim down if we go on to be carrying a little bit extra around.  The reason why it’s difficult is because modern society has really taught us that we should expect things immediately.  As a matter of fact, that’s one of the causes why many of us find ourselves overweight in the first place.

Many specialists will be quick to tell you that the only way for you to slim down is to do so step by step, perhaps one or 2 pounds coming off every week.  Unfortunately, many of us are unable to follow a diet and exercise program long enough to be encouraged by those kinda results.  Does this mean that there’s nothing that we can do in order to lose weight quickly and to keep it off for the long term?  You might be surprised to find out that you can actually lose a considerable amount more than 1 or 2 pounds a week and do so in a healthy way.

The direction that this is done is by eating the right foods, not by restricting yourself in the quantity of foods that you’re going to eat.  The easiest way that this is done is by eating foods that are low on the glycemic index.  These are the foods that are going to release their sugar into your bloodstream slow and allow your pancreas to produce enough insulin to take care of it rather than storing it as fat.

Although it is going to take a little bit of self-control on your part, it’s possible for you to lose up to 20 pounds in one month by eating in this way.

The way that you do it is actually quite simple.  You eat a source of protein at every meal, either chicken, beef, pork for fish. You also want to make certain that you’re eating vegetables with every meal that are low on the glycemic index.  One other thing that you should prefer to eat is a legume, such as beans or lentils.  These legumes are what is going to give you the calories that you need to keep your energy up but not so many calories that they’re going to be stored as extra fat on your body.

Eating this way for a month is going to produce fantastic results.  If you’re able to stick with it faithfully, you should also make certain that you include one cheat day during the week so that your body doesn’t get used to this way of eating.  You’ll begin to notice pounds drop off rather rapidly and by the end of the month, the scale will show a significant difference.  This is one way for you to lose weight without the wait.  It’s also a method of eating that can be incorporated into your daily life permanently.
